Large Animals

Towne Veterinary Clinic works with "Large Animals" such as cattle, sheep, and swine (production medicine).

Cow/calf, backgrounder, feeder calf producers, heifer replacements receive consultation as requested, emergency obstetrical, greentag processing calves, and postmortem analysis of all ages.

Swine (feeder pigs, farrowing, and replacement production) receive consultation as requested, emergency obstetrical, feeder pig processing, and postmortem analysis of all ages.

Sheep (feeders, breeder stock) receive consultation as requested, emergency obstetrical, feeder lamb processing, and postmortem analysis of all ages.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Beginning January1, 2017 there are new Federal rules for antibiotic use in animals meant for human consumption. These rules restrict access to feed grade antibiotics (added to feed for a single, or group of animals) and water grade antibiotics (added to water for a single, or group, of animals) such that veterinary oversight is required. Large animals that are nonproduction, such as equine, receive consultation services as needed, and acupuncture for musculoskelatal and organ disorders.

All large animal clients receive emergency services on a 24 hour basis.
